DNA Cycles in Narellan, south of Sydney, contacted us about doing ‘shop’ jerseys to sell in their bike store. For us, this was a simple project as DNA already had their logo and basic design for the jerseys sorted. All we had to do was put it altogether and change from our usual jersey pattern styles to a lesser used one to suit the design elements.
The jerseys shown here (Road/XC and MTB Trail/Gravity) are DNA’s 2nd order with us after being very happy with the first order.
When the MTB Bundaberg club contacted us about designing and creating a club kit, and it had to have a panther on it—we were very much intrigued. The club provided their logo and said legends of a black panther or two living in their patch of forest necessitated the big cat’s inclusion in the design.
As we worked with the club through some early concepts, more ideas came forward and soon a camo pattern and grass trees needed to be present also. And claw marks—it had to have claw marks!
What you see here is the bright, distinctive design applied across the xc kit and trail/gravity jerseys the club ordered. When the MTB Bundaberg riders pounce—you see them coming!
This jersey design was requested by a Victorian based family with many cycling members. Close to their hearts was a loved one battling the advanced stages of Motor Neurone Disease. This insidious group of diseases slowly rob the sufferer of their ability to use their muscles throughout their body. Not only motor function is impaired, but even the ability to breathe and even dementia can be experienced. They simply wanted a jersey that highlighted the disease in the Victorian MND colours of purples and blues. We found the orange that is used by the support/help department for the MND website and incorporated that as an extra element and to add just a splash of colour as well.
This jersey is the result.
The Cogheads are a long running MTB social riding group from the Newcastle, NSW region who came to us back in early winter with an idea of what they wanted in a kit design wise. We worked with them to develop that idea and adjust their existing logos (one for the girls as well) into a bright selection of jerseys and other kit. The main parameters were the colours and vertical stripes.
Seeing as many of the Cogheads rides stat and/or end at pubs… they thought using a screenshot of part of their Strava Heatmap might be a cool idea for the back of the jerseys. And it was. But here’s where things got complex. We weren’t happy to use a screenshot though (for all the graphic design reasons), so many, many hours were put in to create a proper vector ‘heatmap’ using part of their logo to show the pub locations. The end result is a striking, true representation of their popular trail networks. The Cogheads, and Cogettes, were very happy with the new look and promptly ordered a range of products including XC jerseys (long and short sleeve), Trail/Gravity jerseys (long and short sleeve), some winter XC jerseys, vests, knicks (std and bib) and arm warmers. Out on the trails their design stands out bright and unmistakable.
